Revlon Lip Butters Review

Revlon Lip Butters Review

These have been around for about a year now. No doubt most of you will already own at least one of these. But, as I own three, and I love every one of them, I thought I would share my opinions with you all. :)
L-R: Berry Smoothie, Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple

L-R: Berry Smoothie, Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple
Firstly, the only lipstick I have every repurchased, Candy Apple. This is a lovely true red. I love how this is enough to glam up your look, but it is still very wearable during the day. I also own Tutti Frutti, which is the bright orange of the bunch. Now, I'll admit, for some reason this one does get messier, and melts easier than the others, but I'll forgive it for being just so darn beautiful! Finally, I decided to buy Berry Smoothie. This was mainly because as the time I bought this, I had absolutely no 'my lips but better' colours. This most definitely fits the bill! I'm going to need a new one soon!

As for how longwearing these are, I was pleasantly surprised! Considering these are targeted as being a bit more balmy than lipsticky, these has good staying power, particularly Candy Apple. I have worn this for a night out and only reapplied once, maybe twice!

L-R: Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti, Berry Smoothie
These are usually £7.99 in Boots/Superdrug. I usually wait until there is some kind of offer on, usually a £2 off offer. However, at the moment, Revlon lips/nails are 2 for £10. So if you're looking to get some of these go, GO NOW! haha :)

My Blush Collection

My Blush Collection

I don't have many blushes, but I thought I would show you the ones I do own. I mostly love peachy corally blushes, as you'll see! I keep my blushes in this glass pot from Ikea, which cost £5. I thinks it's gorgeous!

So, these are my blushes...

Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef: This is a very bright coral. I love the texture of this and the was it applies. It cost about £8, but I can see it's going to last FOREVER! I would like to get a couple more of this range.
Revlon's Coral Reef
Topshop Cream Blushes in Flush and Head Over Heels: These blushes are £6 which I think is brilliant! Flush is the brighter pink, which looks a little scary, but blends in to be more subtle. Head Over Heels is the peach, it gives a lovely natural flush, it's beautiful!
L-r: Topshop's Head Over Heels and Flush
Dainty Doll Powder Blushes in 001 Hippy Shake and 004 You Are My Sunshine: These were only £1.99 WOO! I don't know if fragrance direct is still selling these, but you should definitely check them out cause these were a bargain! Hippy Talks is the lilac colour. It's very pale, and has finely milled shimmer in it, so i mainly use it as a highlighting blush, and skip on the highlighter that day. You Are My Sunshine is known as a dupe for Nars Orgasm! Its a orangey shimmery blush and looks lovely on. I don't own Orgasm, but because I have this, I don't really feel the need to splurge over £20 on Orgasm, when this was just £1.99!

L-r: Dainty Doll Hippy Talks & You Are My Sunshine
L-R: Coral Reef, Flush, Head Over Heels, You Are My Sunshine, Hippy Talks
I know my collection isn't huge, but I feel like this is enough blush for me! I don't feel the need for loads because I know I would never get through them!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains VS Clinique Chubby Stick Intense

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains VS Clinique Chubby Stick Intense

Now, there is no secret that the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains were always going to be compared to Cliniques' more pricey offering. And I can see exactly why. I chose to compare the colour Crush from Revlon, with Cliniques' Grandest Grape.
Revlon's Crush, Clinique's Grandest Grape

Colour- As you can see, these are pretty similar in colour. I liked the darker purpley/red offerings from both companies, and I have to report back, they are very similar. However, personally I prefer the slightly more red tinge to Clinique's Grandest Grape. Clinique'sGrandest Grape also applies colour more evenly. WINNER: Clinique
L-R: Clinique- Revlon

Revlon's Crush, Clinique's Grandest Grape
Texture - Both these lip products are creamy to apply and go on smoothly. I would say Cliniques is slightly more drying though. WINNER: Revlon

Staying Power: Sorry Revlon, but in the most important category, Clinique
wins. The chubby stick does not budge from my lips all day. I think this may be because I have a darker colour, which tend to last longer, but still, this is impressive. Revlon's Crush stays on for longer than you would expect given it's cheaper price tag! WINNER: Clinique

Price: I cannot remember exactly how much Cliniques chubby stick cost me, as I was in Spain when I bought it, and currency conversion confuses me no end! However, I think they are £17 in Boots. Revlon's dupe is over half price, at £7.99. WINNER: Revlon
Clinique
Revlon

It's a tough call between these two. To me, Clinique has won in the two most important categories, colour and staying power. If you're looking for a great alternative, I say go with Revlon. However, if you can afford it, go for Clinique, you won't regret it :)

Cream Eyeshadows

Cream Eyeshadows

Up until last summer, I never got the point of these types of products. That was until I bought a Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo. I honestly didn't understand how I had survived so long with out an eye shadow base for my oily eyelids! I now wear a cream eye shadow everyday, be it to prime my eyelids for eye shadow, or just on their own. I have 3 of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, and 2 MAC Paint Pots. Here's my verdict:
I keep my cream eyeshadows in this glass pot from Ikea. I can't remember exactly how much it was, but it was definitely under £5.

M.C.T in Eternal Gold: This is my least favourite of all of my cream eyeshadows. I have to work hard to get any dense colour on my eyelids with this. It's beautiful, but it's not pigmented enough for my. Granted, no one wants gold custard powder looking eyelids, but still, a little more pigmentation would be nice. Also, I can feel this one drying up alot faster than other ones I own.

M.C.T in On and On Bronze: From the not so good, to the incredible. This colour beats Eternal Gold hands down! It is gorgeous on it's own, but I really like it for a primer, it gives more intensity to the colour of the eyeshadow I am using, and although I cannot speak from experience, I really do think this one would last for 24 hours!

M.C.T in Immortal Charcoal: I don't use this often, just for nights out when I'm wearing a smokey eye. Much like On and On Bronze, it lasts forever, and works amazingly as a primer. I love how it's metallicy, so looks beautiful with or without eyeshadow on top!

L-R: On and On Bronze, Immortal Charcoal, Eternal Gold
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study: Oh wow. This is a pearly stunning beauty. I like how this looks alone on quick simple make up days, but I LOVE how this looks with Stilas Kitten (although any other pearly champagney colours would work well too!) This was my first MAC paint pot, and I do not regret it one bit, LOVELY!

MAC Paint Pot in Eclair: This is my fave of the entire bunch! I think this may have been limited edition, however, MAC Constuctivist is very similar. This looks gorgeous with the darker brown colours from the Stila in the Light Palette. I also love this alone. I have pretty much been wearing this every day for the past few weeks, yet there is still barely a dent in it. Providing this doesn't dry up (which I really hope it doesn't) I'm sure this will last over a year!

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study and Eclair
What cream eyeshadow/bases do you guys use? What do you think of the MCT and MAC paint pots?

L-R: MAC Bare Study & Eclair, Maybelline On and On Bronze, Eternal Gold & Immortal Charcoal

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick Review

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Review

Anyone who has spent more than ten minutes looking in beauty halls will be aware of how beautifully stunning these lipsticks are. And, to be honest, it is mainly the beautiful packaging that enticed me (or rather enticed me to entice my boyfriend) to part with £24.
I have the shade 17 Rose In Tension. I decided that if I was going to own one of these lipsticks, I wanted something special that i knew I would wear. I'm not a girl who loves nudes, but I am a girl who loves a red lip. So, I chose this colour, which I call my grown up red. It's not as bright as my other red lipsticks, but I love that about it.

Now for the quality of the actual lipstick. I would say, the lasting power of this lipstick is somewhere between a MAC cream sheen and matte finish. It's not incredible considering how much they cost, but I find that if I apply a small amount, blot it, then apply it again, it can last a good 2-3 hours, which in my book is quite respectable! I have seen reviews that say this has worn off in ten minutes, but for me, thankfully, I haven't found this.

I can't lie and admit that the packaging for this isn't the prettiest thing I have ever seen. Every time I remember I have this lipstick, I let out a little inner excited squeal! It really is stunning. It is definitely a lipstick I save for special occasions rather than everyday use of a night out(as I am scared I'll lose it in my slightly tipsy state!) Also, as you all probably already know, it smells like watermelons, mmmm...

So, overall, despite the hefty price tag, I would say if you are looking into getting one of these lipstick, do it! Make sure you pick a colour you know you will wear though! And, if you want to make it seem even more special, just save it for special occasions :)

I would really like to try the YSL glossy stains next, but I think I might look into the Loreal dupe first, and parting with over £20 for a lip product is SO hard!

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick
Rating: 8/10
Hope this review helped a few of you decide whether to take the plunge on this lipstick! Do any of you own one already and love/hate it?

What I Bought #1

What I bought #1

As a student, I have little to no money during the summer, so these posts will be few and far between! The other day I found myself alone in Boots, whoops! I was quite restrained, but I did pick up a few lipsticks!

Revlon lips/nails are on 2 for £10 at the moment, so I decided to treat myself to 2 new lipsticks. A while ago, I accidentally ended up on the US Revlon websites, and saw an advert for the Suede Lipsticks. I then got very excited, followed by very upset when I realised I was on the US website! Boo! Long story short, I have recently realised we have finally got these lipsticks, so I picked one up in Couture. I haven't used it yet, but when I do, I shall report back! I also picked up one of the super lustrous lipsticks, in Berry Couture.(I think Revlon need to pick more varied names! haha) I am wearing this for the first time today, and I can report than after eating breakfast, it still remains on my lips!

I also popped into River Island. I had a couple if their above knuckle rings, but as all fake gold jewellery does, they went green! So I picked up a couple more. These were only £3 which I think is a bargain if you ask me! I'll make sure to paint the inside of these with clear nail varnish to make sure green fingers don't happen again!

Hope you enjoyed this! I wish I could show you extravagant purchases, but no, just a few bits :)

Have any of you tried these Revlon Lipsticks? What do you think?

My Perfume Collection

My Perfume Collection

I am the kind of person that will spritz multiple perfumes all over myself every time i go to Boots. If I could afford to, I could name you all at least ten perfumes I would buy in a instant. However, as I cannot, I mostly rely on birthdays and Christmasses to build up my collection.

I keep my perfumes in this little cabinet that my mum found in a charity shop. I absolutely love it. It looks gorgeous and really cute!

My Perfumes:

DKNY Be Delicious- This was my first ever perfume. It reminds me of when me and my boyfriend first met, and it brings back amazing memories of when I went to America. It has pretty much run out now though :( It smells like apples, obviously haha

Benefit So Hooked on Carmella- I got this last Christmas after sniffing it everytime I walked through Debenhams! I love it, it was the perfect perfume for holiday. It smells like Malibu and coconut and pineapple and suncream and YUM :)

Harajuku Lovers Love - I love the bottles for these perfumes. Me and my friends all bought this when it was on offer in Boots a while ago. It smells like parma violets.

Harajuku Lovers Baby- I'm not overly keen on this. It smells like lemons, which is nice. I originally asked for a spare of the Harajuku Lovers Love perfume as a Christmas presents, but my parents got the wrong one. And I felt bad so I didn't say anything. I do still wear this though, its a nice refreshing smell.

Lush Karma Solid Perfume- This smells like Lush. And mangos. Its lovely to wear on your wrists, but whenever I wear it on my neck, it leaves weird orange marks! It also get very messy and melts a lot in the warm!
Apologies for the melted messiness!

I hope you've enjoyed this post. I think, if i could have any perfume right now, it would be Marc Jacobs Daisy. It just smells so so beautiful!
